The Inuoimono
has been said that it was derived from the Ushioimono(cow hunting performance)
and said it was performed in the Kamakura era. After the Meiji restoration, on 25th August Meiji 12(1879), the Ogasawara performed the Inuoimono with the Imperial attendance at the Ueno Park, Tokyo. In Meiji 14(1881), the Inuoimono was also performed with the Imperial attendance in the residence of the Shimazu in Azabu, Tokyo, however, the Inuoimono have not been carried out ever since because of a humane society's strong opposition to the performance. |
